The Women’s Heart Health Research Lab, headed by Dr. Qi Fu, focuses on blood pressure control in women across their lifespan.
We are currently conducting a SPA Research Study to understand whether a non-drug treatment, such as local (lower leg) heating is effective in lowering blood pressure in women 60-85 years old who have elevated/high blood pressure.
You may qualify if your blood pressure is 130-179 mmHg (systolic blood pressure; top number) and/or 80-109 mmHg (diastolic blood pressure; bottom number) and you are not currently taking hormone replacement therapy.
Qualified volunteers will receive:
Comprehensive assessment of blood pressure
Assessment of heart and blood vessel function
Monetary compensation for study participation
Study procedures include:
Evaluation of your heart and blood vessel function
8 weeks of home-based lower leg heat therapy (portable spa provided)
If you don’t meet the study criteria, do you know someone who does? Please feel free to forward this information to them.
